It's You
The Revelations
United Kingdom
Everything old is new again. The sounds of the mid-20th century are becoming popular again so now’s the perfect time for a very 1960s sounding group to “make it big”.

Du Behöver Aldrig Mer Vara Rädd
Lasse Lindh
Sweden
“Du behöver aldrig mer vara rädd” (loosely translated: “you never need to be afraid again”) is a sweet love song about the comfort one finds in strong relationship. I chose the live version because it comes across as more sincere than the music video. Plus, there’s more awkward dancing!

Your Heart Belongs to Me
Hind
Netherlands
Once again, the Netherlands delivers a great song only to have it be ignored by the rest of Europe. Perhaps things will be different in the Americas.

DJ, Take Me Away
Deep Zone & Balthazar
Bulgaria
This is arguably the best dance song of the year. It has a simple premise and is executed in a flawlessly cheesy way. Unlike similar songs, “DJ, Take Me Away” has the potential to be a mainstream hit in addition to its success in the clubs.

Deli
Mor ve Ötesi
Turkey
One would never guess that this song was a Eurovision entry. It sounds like something you would hear if you turned on any modern rock station across the country. That is why it deserves to be in the top 10. Well, that and the creepy video.

La Histeria
Marquess
Germany
Finally, we’ve reached the top 10. What I find interesting about this song is that it’s sung in Spanish by a German band. More importantly, it creates a linguistic parity that has been missing from the world of music. Basically, after years of the English language being raped by certain international singers, it’s about time another language had its turn. Maybe now they can form a support group.
Note: This entry contains hyperbole.

From Russia with DANCING BEAR
Apparently, this is how Sweden views Russian culture:
Surprisingly, the Russians aren’t too keen on this.

That Is Where I'll Go
Sibel Redzep
Sweden
“That is Where I’ll Go” is a big ballad sung by a rather frail looking girl. It contains all the proper sentiments needed to make it one of those songs that are performed ad nauseam on American Idol, assuming that it first finds success stateside.
