As proof that no genre bias exists on the list, I submit to you Are You Ready? by Stian Joneid. This feel-good pop song about the beginning of spring has a contemporary Christian vibe to it. (Billboard, which releases the official music charts in the United States, has no fewer than 3 charts dedicated to contemporary Christian music.) If the song is marketed towards this audience, it could do surprisingly well. In fact, it’s not uncommon for albums in this genre to be certified platinum (sales of one million) in the U.S. In addition, fans of this genre tend to be loyal, which could lead to a sustained career filled with album sales in the millions. If only the song were about Jesus…
